Romantic movies, no matter how wonderfully written, always succumb to the corny line. They just can't help themselves. But for me an extra-corny line doesn't ruin an otherwise good movie because I'm able to forgive a lot when it comes to this genre. And sometimes the cheesiest lines actually make the movie because...they're so bad they're good.
So here are 5 of the best corny lines -
"Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed" - Andie MacDowell, Four Weddings and a Funeral
Come on! How lame is that?! *vomit* Cheese factor: 10/10
"You complete me" - Tom Cruise, Jerry Maguire
Made worse by the response - "You had me at hello" Cheese factor: 8/10
“I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her” - Julia Roberts, Notting Hill
A famous movie star wants you to love her. Yeah, that'll happen fellas! Cheese factor: 6/10
"You want a man who'll lead you down the beach with his hand over your eyes just so you can discover the feel of the sand under your feet" - Richard Gere, Runaway Bride
This never happens in real life. Cheese factor: 9/10
"Nobody puts Baby in a corner" - Patrick Swayze, Dirty Dancing
This line has become a classic, but even Patrick himself said he'd felt lame saying it. Cheese factor: 7/10
